Creating Options

“We have more possibilities available in each moment than we realize.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

This quote by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, a global spiritual leader, poet and peace activist, brings it it to the point what mindfulness practice can foster in us:

Realizing this very infinite moment of one’s life … that we have spaciousness, freedom, and wisdom to decide which thought, word, or act can be our next.

By practicing mindfulness, mindful awareness or embodied attention we increase the number of our options to act differently, compassionately, in favour of our own lives but also in our relation to others.

Creating the possibilities which can lead us on the path which carries us in each moment.

Experiences and Assumptions

What are the mismatches between assumptions (holding non-evident beliefs of any kind) and direct experiences?

How do we digest an immediate experience in our sensory systems in terms of being in sensual contact with the inner and outer world, feelings, perceptions, inclinations to think, to speak, and to act, and consciousness?

What if we apply for example the Work of Byron Katie to our experiences and their subsequent non-evident interpretations?

Inquiry: The Four Questions
and the Turnarounds
1. Is it true? (Yes or no. If no, move to question 3.)
2. Can you absolutely know that it’s true? (Yes or no.)
3. How do you react, what happens, when you
believe that thought?
4. Who would you be without the thought?

What if we hold an open stance to assumptions about which we have no evidence [at the moment …]?
Wouldn’t that be liberating, honest to ourselves, and a profound point of integrity?

What assumptions do we hold which keep us bleeding? Can’t we donate “blood” in a better ways?

CARE for …

You may reckon that loving care for yourself and people will change the environment you are current~ly taking part in.

The absence of care creates all the hopelesness and damages people are facing today worldwide at many places. Care sets the conditions for nurturing right thoughts and actions without delay.
